WAIVER: The act of intentionally or knowingly relinquishing or abandoning a known right, claim, or privilege and the legal instrument reflecting such act.
WITH PREJUDICE: Applied to orders of judgment dismissing a case, meaning that the plaintiff is estopped or barred forever from bringing a lawsuit on the same claim or cause.
WITHOUT PREJUDICE: A claim or cause that is dismissed, but may be the subject of a new lawsuit.
WITNESS: A person who testifies to what he or she has seen, heard or otherwise observed or testifies to his or her opinion based on a hypothetical statement.
WRIT: A judicial order directing a person to do something.
WORKING WEEK DAY: A day which is not Saturday, Sunday or a federal or state holiday.
