If the defendant counterclaim exceeds $4,000 but is less than the District Court's maximum jurisdictional limit it is in the court's discretion to consider the claim or transfer the case.

Either party may file an appeal for a new trial in District Court within 10 days of judgment.

A plaintiff can file no more than ten claims per year. No jury trial. Right to sue may not be transferred. No discovery.
