If defendant counterclaim exceeds $5,000, the case goes to the regular docket of appropriate court. If defendant's claim is greater than $750 and jury trial is requested, then the case goes to Circuit Court.

Circuit Court: No appeal. Justice Court: By defendant for a new trial to Circuit Court within ten days of judgment.

Defendant must answer within 14 days or lose by default. Cases may be referred to mediation or arbitration.
